Conference 31 May - 2 June 2022 Technical Visit 3-5 June 2022
Conference 31 May - 2 June 2022 | Technical Visit 3-5 June 2022
In the global context of the current COVID-19 pandemic, and after obtaining feedback and suggestions from both the AAR International Committee and many Colleagues, the ICAAR Organizing Committee has decided to maintain the conference as a physical event and, as such, to postpone the 16th International Conference on Alkali Aggregate Reaction in Concrete to 31 May - 2 June 2022.
The reviewing process is almost concluded, the remaining reviews and the notification of final acceptance of the papers will be sent to authors by the end of February 2021. The First Book of Proceedings will be published in digital format in April 2021 and will be made available on the ICAAR website. Access to the book will be subject to a pre-registration, the value of which will be deducted from the conference registration fee. The selection of articles for publication in journal special issues devoted to the 16th ICAAR will be completed in April.
Due to multiple requests, there will be a new call for abstracts in May 2021; furthermore, authors that have already submitted their articles to the previous calls and for which the reviewing process is concluded, may apply for a permission to submit an updated version of the manuscript. However, the permission request has to be adequately substantiated. These articles will be published in the Second Book of Proceedings of 16th ICAAR, and made available online during the conference in 2022.
If you have any concern regarding ICAAR 2020-2022, please visit the Conference website (http://icaar2020-2022.lnec.pt/) or contact the Conference Secretariat (email: icaar2020-2022@lnec.pt).
The 16th ICAAR will be hosted by Portuguese National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC). We are very honoured to organize this conference and look forward to offer you a high level scientific and technical event related with the concrete AAR phenomena and its structural consequences, as well as an unforgettable experience in Lisboa, the amazing capital of Portugal.
We are preparing a complete programme which will include a first day for meetings (30 May), a 3 days conference with plenary lectures and scientific/technical sessions (31 May - 2 June), and an interesting technical visit (3-5 June) to AAR and AAR/DEF damaged and/or rehabilitated structures (dams and bridges) in the central region of Portugal.
We invite all researchers and engineers to participate in this event and share your valuable experience and achievements.
We look forward to welcoming you in Lisboa!
